Pemax opens new high-tech countertop fabrication unit
North of Portugal – 2025 – Pemax Group is proud to announce the opening of its new countertop fabrication unit, equipped with the latest Italian technology from CMS and dedicated to the high-precision processing of natural stone, quartz and sintered stone.
This strategic investment has been made possible with the support of the Portugal 2030 programme, within the partnership between the Portuguese Government and the European Commission, aimed at strengthening innovation, competitiveness and industrial capacity in Portugal.
The new unit has been designed to serve kitchen studios, fabricators, contractors and developers in Portugal and other European Union countries, offering faster lead times, higher accuracy and a wider range of finishes for countertops and bespoke surfaces.
At the heart of the new facility is a complete set of advanced machinery, including:
- CMS Brembana Sprint 5 Axis – for complex cuts, angles, mitres and special shapes in large-format slabs.
- CMS Brembana Speed numerically controlled machining centre – for precise CNC work such as sink cut-outs, drainers, edge details and custom designs.
- Marmo Meccanica LCH Magnum edge polisher – for high-quality polished, bevelled and special edges.
- CMS Brembana Easyline waterjet – for ultra-accurate cutting of intricate geometries, curves and challenging materials.
With this new production line, Pemax can fabricate countertops, islands, backsplashes, wall panels and other made-to-measure elements in its main brands of natural stone, quartz and sintered stone, combining industrial efficiency with craftsmanship and strict quality control.
This project reinforces Pemax Group’s position as a reference supplier of premium surfaces, providing an integrated solution that goes from material selection to finished, ready-to-install pieces for residential, commercial and hospitality projects throughout the European market.
